Memebox Luckybox #9 Review & Unboxing

It’s tiiiiiiiiiime! After some people posted their recent Memeboxes on a certain enabling subreddit, I went a little crazy and bought multiple boxes – as I detail in this post, it’s really hard to resist the siren call of Memeboxes once you get started, even before you receive your first box!

Speaking of which, that is a thing that happened today. My first Memebox arrived!

memebox

This is Luckybox #9 – from their description: Luckybox has always offered only the must-have items for both the loyal fans of Memebox and also those new to Memebox! For Luckybox #9 we’ve included the best items from previous Luckyboxes and Memeboxes!

So basically, the Luckybox series is a “best of” past boxes kind of deal. IIRC, this is the only unthemed box that I purchased, so I really had no idea what to expect!

memeboxfirstlook

So here’s our first look. Gotta love detailed information cards, particularly when all the packaging is in a language I don’t speak at all!

unboxedmeme

Here we have all the products laid out – so that’s four full-sized products, four samples, and a sheet mask. For $23 plus $6.99 shipping, that’s not bad at ALL. I’m also happy to see that it’s all skincare, too – makeup is fun and all, but I only need so many mascaras at any given time, you know? I go through skincare products much faster than makeup, and I’m still looking for my personal holy grail products in almost every category.

Anyhow, let’s get down to it and check out the info cards + each product individually!

memeboxcardfront

Here’s the front…. four full-sized products already! You know, I love Glossybox to bits, but the bang for your buck on this is unreal. I paid $23 plus shipping for this box, keep that in mind.

memeboxcardback

And here’s the back. The cleanser and gel cream shown here are sample packets, and I received one of the sheet masks.

Now, I know that the cards are somewhat hard to read, so never fear – I’m going to write out the descriptions, one by one, alongside my photos of the product.

porecontrol

First up is The Skin House Pore Control Powder Serum.

Originally featured in Superbox #36 Pore Care 3

This Pore Control Powder Serum works to immediately tighten and minimize enlarged pores for a smooth and matte skin texture. It also prevents skin’s oil/moisture imbalance by maintaining it silky soft.

Apply a small amount of the serum on your hands for full absorbance.

Given that I’m an oily-skinned girl, this sounds really appealing! I especially like the promise of balancing your skin’s moisture levels while softening and mattifying your skin. Looking at The Skin House’s website, they don’t give a full ingredients list, but they do reveal the following ingredients: Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Psidium Guajava Fruit Extract, Malpighia Emarginata (Acerola) Fruit Extract, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Oil, Euterpe Oleracea Fruit Extract. Tea Tree and I can get along very well if it’s in a good formula, so I’m hopeful!

powderwash

A powder wash! Specifically, i belivyu Powder Wash Vitamin Face Cleanser.

This was originally featured in Superbox #46 Birthday.

This refreshing powder-type facial cleanser works as vitamin parts burst onto your skin, with granol particles and papaine enzymes softly yet thoroughly rubbing away all skin residues and impurities. Best of macademia and olive oil are also included and deliver protection and and deep hydration to the skin.

Take out a dime-sized amount of the powder wash, wet it and lather it well. Gently massage your face clean and rinse off.

Okay, I’m actually in between cleansers at the moment – I just finished my mini-bottle of The Aloe Source, and none of the other cleansers that I’ve ordered recently (the famed SU:M37 Miracle Rose Cleansing Stick and Etude House Wonder Pore Whipping Foaming) have shown up yet, so I actually started using this tonight! Expect a review in a month-ish. It smells great, I can tell you that already – kind of light peach-y floral. Lathers up like a creamy dream as well. I’m not sure how reliable pH testing will be for this, since obviously it has to be mixed with water to emulsify, and my water is “hard” and actually more alkaline than normal – usually around 9. So I’m thinking this might skew the results a bit? If anyone knows, please reply. I’d love to give everyone a pH report, but I don’t want it to be wrong or higher than it should be just because my water’s pH is also higher than most.

For what it’s worth, my skin does not feel dried out at all – in fact, it feels really soft and lovely. High hopes, people.

mermaidmask

Okay, how cute is this?! Each box included one random Y.E.T. Don’t Worry Mask Sheet – I got the 08 Mermaid Mask variety, which is apparently the moisturizing version.

Y.E.T. offers a variety of 10 different masks, each catered to specific beauty concerns such as soothing, whitening, moisturizing, pore care, wrinkle care, and oil control. Again, each mask pack is enriched with natural ingredients like aloe, green tea, lemon, cucumber, cacao, and honey to target specific beauty concerns.

Place the mask over your face and rest for 15-20 minutes. Remove and pat in the remaining mask essence onto your skin.

Looking at all the mask names, they all sound pretty amazing. Why on earth is the soothing variety called “Hammer Time”?!

I’m happy with the Mermaid pick, as it’s nice to have a hydrating mask on hand during the harsh winters we can get here.

essence

Recipe by Nature Spray Essence Water is our next item.

Featured in Memebox Global #1

Spray Essence Water is enriched with celtic water and whistler glacial mineral water; the main ingredients with nourishing vitamins, amino acids, minerals, and organic acids used to enhance the skin. This essence will hydrate and nourish your skin instantly after application!

Spray on all over the face after cleansing the skin.

Okay, this has a ton of positive reviews on its Memebox shop page, which is a positive sign. Mostly from people calling it “refreshing and soothing” which, okay, yes please. I’ll put this on the agenda after I finish my current essence-type product.

boscians

The last full-sized product in this Memebox is Bocians Cycle Repair Whitening Spot.

First featured in Superbox #35 Fermented Cosmetics 2

This whitening spot cream is enriched with various fermented extracts and hyaluronic acids which hydrate deep into the skin and improve the skin elasticity. The naturally-derived, moisturizing formula also nourishes the skin, giving it a healthier glow from within.

Apply a small amount on spots with fine lines and wrinkles.

I know that fermented skincare has become a big craze lately, but I actually haven’t really tried it much yet! I don’t really have fine lines nor wrinkles that I can see yet, so I’ll have to see if it’s effective as a skin lightening product for post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, or what. If not, maybe I’ll make my mom try it or something…?

memeboxsamples

Last but not lease, the samples! I received 2x each of Awesome Aqua Whip Hug Foam Cleanser and Awesome Aqua Power Gel Cream.

These were first featured in Memebox Special #13 Cooling Care

Both the Foam Cleanser and the Gel Cream are made from the Canadian glaciers extremely pure and rich in its minerals. The fine, soft, whip cream-like bubbles created from the cleanser are very gently and effective in penatrating deep into your pores, while the Aqua Power Gel Cream delivers the ultimate oil-free, moisture surge deep into your skin, hydrating it from within instead of the outer surface.

Lather the cleanser with your hands and massage the foam onto your face. Rinse off with warm water. Apply the cream generously over your face at the last stage of your skincare.

Okay, first of all, I looove that the brand’s name is “awesome” – and the fact that the cleanser is called “Aqua Whip Hug Foam” is just adorable, haha. I really hope that these products work out for me, because they sound great and those names can’t be beat, really.

All in all, this box has left me with a really good impression of Memebox – I’m so excited for my future boxes if they’re all going to pack this much value into each shipment! I also love that almost every product (only barring possibly the Whitening Spot treatment) sounds like something that I can use. So my Luckybox #9 review is a big, fat, hopeful fist pump… can that be a review? I say it can!

Obviously, there are referral links present in this post. Lots of them, haha. Please visit the site disclaimer for more information, and THANK YOU if you choose to buy anything via these links – I love you much!
